Chittamma is the story of a joint family who all live under the same roof. Chittamma and her brothers love and respect their father, Avudaiappan very much. Avudaiappan was born in poverty who struggles all his life to be able to provide to his extended family which includes his sister and her children. In a time when people hardly meet their families, Chittamma’s family lives together in harmony. Avudaiappan has a friend, Thavasi, who grows up with him and has been there through the easy and tough times that Avudaiappan goes through. The ebbs and flows of a family that’s relevant to most big families is the theme of the story.
